Sunil Narine Returns To T20 Cricket Against Srilanka

'Mystery' spinner Sunil Narine, who last played international cricket in August 2014, has made his way back to the West Indies ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka in October. Narine's bowling action was under the scanner during Champions League T20 2014 and he missed the fifty-over World Cup in the following year.
West Indies have gone in with a new-look ODI squad. While Chris Gayle is nursing a back injury, the likes of Darren Sammy, Lendl Simmons, Sulieman Benn, Sheldon Cottrell, Nikita Miller, Kemar Roach, and Dwayne Smith have been left out of the ODI squad. The experienced duo of Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard have been picked in the T20I side. Interestingly, coach Phil Simmons had been suspended for voicing his concern regarding their non-selection in the ODI squad. Medium-pacer Ravi Rampaul, who failed to make the cut for the 50-over World Cup Down Under, has found a spot in the T20I side. Samuel Badree, Jerome Taylor, Jonathan Carter and Johnson Charles are the four new faces for T20Is.
As Simmons gears up to account for his "breaches of confidentiality" to the West Indies Cricket Board, former fast bowler and selector Eldine Baptise will be in-charge for the tour of Sri Lanka, starting on October 14.
Squads:
ODI: Jason Holder (captain), Devendra Bishoo, Jermaine Blackwood, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Jonathan Carter, Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher, Jason Mohammed, Sunil Narine, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor
T20I: Darren Sammy (captain), Samuel Badree, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Jonathan Carter, Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher, Jason Holder, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor
